Sharing resources

Feedback

SuperMap iPortal provides the resource sharing function. You can perform sharing settings when you create a resource for the first time, or you can modify the sharing settings for created resources in 'Resource Center > My Resources'. In addition, administrators with resource management rights can manage the resources of all users and modify their sharing settings. For more details, please see: Resource Management.

The resource sharing scope includes private, public (public search/view/edit) and designated (can specify departments, groups and users to searchview/edit), where designated (departments, groups and users) can be configured by the administrator in the iportal.xml configuration file. For example, if the administrator has not enabled sharing to departments, you will not see the designated department option when sharing resources.

Once you have set sharing settings, the users can view the shared resource from "Resource Center > Public / Shared with Me / My Organization / My Group" to see the shared resources. Private resources can only be viewed from "My Resources".

Note: If your maps, insights, or mapdashboards contain associated resources whose sharing permissions do not match, you will also need to choose whether to update the sharing permissions for these resources simultaneously when setting up sharing.
