View scenes

Feedback

After retrieving the scenes you are interested in, you can use the built-in iEarth WebApp to browse the scene via one of the following ways (View permission is required. If you only have search permission, you need to perform Resource Application and Authorization first):

iEarth WebApp, is a plug-in-free application developed based on iClient 3D for WebGL, which can run on browsers and mobile devices (For details, see: Browser and mobile device requirements). The following will introduce the supported operations when browsing a scene with iEarth WebApp.

Layer control

Same like a two-dimensional map, in a three-dimensional scene, the data is loaded and displayed on the sphere as a layer. For example: imagery data, terrain data and vector data, are all loaded and displayed in different layers. In a 3D scene, the layers are divided in four types according to the different data content: normal layer, tracking layer, screen layer and terrain layer. A 3D scene could contain multiple normal layers (Layer3D), or multiple terrain layers (TerrainLayer).

In iEarth WebApp, click the "layer" icon on the upper-right corner, all the contained layers of the scene will be displayed, you can check/uncheck the checkbox in front of a specific layer to set its visibility.

Scene operations

When browsing a scene in PC browsers, roaming operations such as pan, zoom, tilt, and rotate are often used. And the iEarth WebApp also provides a compass to quickly correct the orientation of the scene to the positive direction of north and south; reset helps to quickly restore to the scene's initial state.

In addition to the above operations, the iEarth WebApp also provides some temporary edit operations, such as overly 3D layers, perform analysis, for the users who only have the view permission. But note, the edit results cannot be saved because of the permission. For details about edit operations, see: Create scenes with iEarth WebApp.
