Create layer group

MapStudio supports creating layer groups, it can help users manage layers in an organized way, and set layers in the same layer group uniformly, such as setting visibility of layers. In addition, layer groups can be nested, that is to say, a layer group can contain other layer groups.

Create layer group

Select "Layer" in the left sidebar to enter the layer panel, click on  , a layer group named "Untitled" will be created and added to the layer panel. You can click the on the created layer group, select “Rename” to modify the group name. After the creation of layer group, you can drag the layers into the created layer group so as to manage the layers methodically.

Add and remove layer

Click on the target layer group, it will expand and display all the layers and layer groups in it. You can add layers to or remove layers from a layer group as needed, or create multiple layer groups and drag one group into another one to accomplish the nesting of layer groups. There is no limit on the number of nested layers within a layer group currently. The specific operations of adding and removing layers are as follows:

Change the order of layers or layer groups

You can drag a layer to change the order of layers in the layer group, or drag a layer group to change the order of layer groups.

Select the layer or layer group that you want to move first, and drag it above or below the target layer or layer group, the top or bottom edge of the target layer or layer group will be highlighted. Then release the mouse, the layer or layer group will be moved above or below the target layer or layer group.

Visibility of layer group

By using layer groups, you can manage the visibility of layers in the layer group uniformly. Select the layer group, and click or , the visibility of the group will be changed.

If you turn off the visibility of a layer group, all layers in the group will be invisible. If you turn on the visibility of a layer group, the previously invisible layers in the group will remain invisible.

Zoom to group

Clickon the layer group, select "Zoom to" to zoom layers to the full width of the current layer group, which includes both visible and invisible layers.

Delete layer group

To delete a layer group, you can select it first,then clickand select "Remove" to complete the deletion. Deleting a layer group will delete all the layers in current group at the same time.
