iPortal has a unified restrict security access control over all the resources, including data, services, maps, scenes, insights, and dashboards. The resource owner is allowed to perform sharing settings according to actual needs, refer to: Sharing Settings. If only part of iPortal users is assigned the permission to view/edit/download(data resource), then the rest of users can search but don't have the right to access these resources. To access these resources, an application for resource authorization should be submitted to the resource owner. Currently, the resource application and authorization function only support view/download permission. To apply for edit permission, the resource owner needs to set it in sharing settings.

After finished resource application operation, you need to wait for the resource owner to agree with the authorization before you can access the resource. The authorization state can be viewed in "My Applications". The following part introduces specific operations.

Resource application

The resource noted with icon in Resource Center and App Center means an application for authorization needs to be performed and approved before they can be accessed. You can click the "Apply for permission" button on the resource item to apply for view/download permission. After performed the application, the resource state will update to "Pending authorization...". You can also click your nickname on the upper-right corner, enter the "My Applications" page to view the application record.

If your application is approved/rejected, the system will notify you with the message. A icon will appear on the location of your nickname, and the number represents the number of unread messages. Click to enter the "My Messages" page, you can see the approval results. You can also view the results on the "My Applications" page; if the review fails, you can also click "Re-apply" to reapply. If approved, you can access the resource normally.

Resource authorization

Same as resource application, if you have an application to be reviewed, the system will send you the notification. Click on the upper-right corner to enter the "My Messages" page, follow the message prompts to enter the "My Authorization" page, find the record to be reviewed (by default, they will be displayed at the top according to the descending order of review time), and you can view the name of the applied resource and application reasons, click "Approve" or "Reject" to finish the review operation.
