Projects management

SuperMap iPortal provides the following project management functions:

• Project management: Support to manage the registered and published projects in the portal in a unified way (view, edit, retrieve, delete, modify the sharing scope, set as featured).
• Project review: Review the projects registered by common users.

Manage projects

As an administrator, you can perform the following operations on projects by entering the Management > Resources Management > Projects > Projects Management page:

View/Edit basic project Infos

Click one specified project, detailed info page will appear, click the "Edit Attributes" button at the right bottom page, you can replace the thumbnail and edit the project name, tags and description.

Rename projects

You can rename a projects name. Move the mouse to the target projects name, click the button that appears, the projects name will be in the editing state. After editing, click any blank position to exit the editing operation.

Delete projects

Check one or multiple projects and click the "Delete" button to remove the projects you don't need anymore.

Search projects

Search the projects you want to find by inputting the project name or the project owner in the input box on the right bottom page.

Modify the sharing scope of projects

On the Projects management page, check one or more projects, and click the "Share" button to modify the sharing permissions of projects in batches. The supported sharing scopes include:

• Private: Only the author and portal administrator can retrieve, view, delete, and edit project information.
• Public: Including three options: All users (including anonymous users) can search, All users (including anonymous users) can view, All login users can edit.
• Designated Department: Allow members of the designated department to search, view, and edit. You can specify that members under one or more departments can search, view, and edit. By default, sharing with department function is disabled; to enable sharing with department, the administrator needs to configure it in the iportal.xml configuration file.

• Designated groups: Allow members of the designated groups to search, view, and edit. You can specify that members under one or more groups can search, view, and edit.
• Designated User: Allow designated users to search, view, and edit. You can add one or more users to the "Selected Users" list. Users in the "Selected Users" list have retrieval permissions by default, and you can manually check the viewing or editing permissions.

If you have selected multiple projects with the same authorized sharing scope, when you click "Share", you can view their current sharing scopes; if the sharing scopes are different, you cannot view them, but you can still authorize the selected projects in bulk. After authorization, these projects have the same sharing scope.

Set as featured projects

On the Project management page, click the button in the "Set as Featured" column to mark the corresponding project as a Featured project. When displaying featured projects in the Resource Center, it will carry the corresponding featured logos, so that portal members can quickly access the featured resources. Note: Project resources with private permissions can't be set as featured resources.

Review projects

Enable/Disable Project Review

Project Review is not enabled by default. After logging in to iPortal as an administrator, click "Management" > "Resource Management" > "Projects" > "Project Review" to enter the "Project Review" page, and click the "Enable" button to enable the Project Review function.

As the administrator, you can also enable this function in the iportal.xml configuration file under the [SuperMap iPortal installation directory]\webapps\iportal\WEB-INF) folder.

Configure project attribute fields

If users in your organization modified the information of the reviewed projects, for example, the project name, description, but the description doesn't conform to your standard, you can control these modifications by configuring project property fields for your reviewing operations. You need to configure them in iportal.xml file. And the properties you can configure include appName, description, thumbnail, tags, and contanctInfo.

Review projects

After logging into the iPortal as an administrator, you can view the projects to be reviewed in Pending Items on Management>Home page, or you can view them by entering Management > Resources Management > Projects > Project Review page. Then you can perform the following operations:

• Pass. You can check one or multiple projects to approve at once. The project owner can receive a passed message and can view the review result from My Projects. Reviewing Status column shows the review results. Reviewing result includes "Pass" and "Not passed".
• Reject. If the registered project does not meet your requirements, you can reject the application with reasons. The project owner will receive the rejection message and can resubmit the review application after fixing the problems by editing the project.
• Delete. If you click the "Delete" button on the projects to be reviewed, these projects will also be removed from My Projects of the project owner.
