User registration review

SuperMap iPortal 8C(2017) SP1 and newer versions provide the function of reviewing registered users. If your portal does not want users to register casually, the administrator can enable the user review function. After enabling this function, only the users reviewed by the administrator can register as iPortal users. Besides, users created directly by the administrator on the User Management page do not need to be reviewed.

Enable/disable user review function

The user review function is not enabled by default, that is, all users can directly register as iPortal users by clicking the "Sign up" button on the portal homepage. The administrator can enable the user review function. In this case, only the users approved by the administrator can register as iPortal users and login to the iPortal.

The administrator can enable or disable the user review function in the following two ways:

1. Login to the portal homepage as an administrator, enter the user review page from "Management"> "Security"> "User Management"> "User Review", and click the "Enable" or "Disable" button.
2. In the iportal.xml configuration file under the [SuperMap iPortal installation directory]\webapps\iportal\WEB-INF folder, setting enable or disable the function through the <allowUserAudit> sub-node element under the <registerSetting> node. See: iPortal configuration file description.

After enabling the user review function, it is recommended that you configure the mailbox as an extended field during user registration, enable the Mail notification function, and Configure the mail server. After completing the above configuration, you need to wait for the administrator to review after registering, and you will receive the review result in the form of an email. Users need to be approved by the administrator to register successfully.

Review users

Login to the portal as an administrator, you can view the number of users to be reviewed under the Pending Items on the "Management" homepage, and then click the number link to enter the "User Review" page for user review. Of course, you can also click "Security"> "User Management"> "User Review" to enter the user review page to view all the users to be reviewed.

• Pass: Check the checkbox in front of the user name and click the "Pass" button to complete the review, and batch review is also supported.
• Reject: If you disagree with the user's registration, you can click the "Reject" button and fill in the rejection comments, and then submit them. Batch rejection is also supported.
• Delete: You can also delete the users to be reviewed. Batch deletion is also supported.
