SuperMap iEdge can be used as the front-end machine of SuperMap iServer, deployed between iServer and the client side, for proxy iServer service, and through a specific scheduling mechanism, select the appropriate iEdge to respond to client requests, thereby enhancing service efficiency.

SuperMap iServer 11i(2023) provides the network segment settings function. The administrator can view the iEdge information which proxy the current iServer service on the iServer agent management page http: // supermapiserver8090 / iserver / manager / proxnodes. It can assign suitable iEdge to the clients in a network segment through the network segment settings so as to provide GIS services quickly.

The configuration steps are:

Start SuperMap iServer, access the page: http://supermapiserver8090/iserver/manager/proxynodes

  1. Click Network segment settings> Add network segment
  2. Input the actual network segment of the client side in Client network segment
  3. Select the agent node, it's suggested to select the iEdge near to the client side
  4. Click OK to save.

After the network segment is set up, when iServer receives the client request from the network segment, it will return the configured iEdge address list to the client, and the client will send the service request to one of the iEdges by polling.
